Applications for degummed carinata oil include:
Carinata meal is a low fiber, high protein source for the livestock industry. The level of crude protein, at an average of 45%, is higher than that of the typical protein content of canola meal, wheat distiller's grains with solubles and similar to that of soybean meal. The amino acid profile of carinata meal is very close to that of canola meal, with similar levels of sulphur containing amino acid and lysine. Carinata meal has received regulatory approval from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
